Considered two of the toughest fighters in UFC, Masvidal and Diaz will collide in the headliner of one of the most anticipated events of the year.  Masvidal has won five of his last seven bouts, including dominant back-to-back wins.  Masvidal stunned former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till with a  second-round knockout in their main event clash in London in March, then returned to the Octagon in July and recorded the fastest knockout in UFC history with a flying-knee to defeat Ben Askren at UFC 239. After a three-year layoff, Diaz returned to the Octagon at UFC 241, defeating former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis by unanimous decision. The win, gave Diaz his first victory since submitting then-UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor during the first of their two meetings in March 2016.

Tonight's the night as CES MMA makes long-awaited return to live action

In the co-main, former world title challenger Kelvin Gastelum will look to bounce back from his loss to current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 236 in April, an all-action affair that remains the lead contender for 2019 “Fight of the Year.” Till enters the Octagon hoping that a win against Gastelum, one of the division’s most skilled fighters, propels him to the top of the rankings in his new division. After securing wins in five of his first six UFC appearances, Till hopes to bounce back from two consecutive losses, the first of his career, which included a defeat via submission against then-welterweight champion Tyron Woodley at UFC 228 in September 2018.
